Air Purifiers. What are they and what do they do?

A range of techniques are used to accomplish this which include that all important filter, adsorbents (commonly charcoal), and electrostatic charges. In a world where the air from outside finds its way inside, home air purifiers are a godsend. My husband, who has sensitivity to airborne contaminants has really benefited from our ionic breeze air purifiers.

Those who suffer from allergies often find that using fresh air purifiers helps them to cope with some of their symptoms. These aren’t the only people who use them, however. Air purifiers are used in many places for many reasons, but the main reason is so that everyone can breathe in cleaner air. There are many types from which to choose, and what you buy may be decided by what you need them for, and the size of your budget.



You can find standing air purifiers that will clean the air in one or two rooms rather effectively. These are great for areas where your pet may spend a lot of time, or where there may be smokers present. People with allergies find these are great, but they work for those who are just annoyed by certain things. Things like cigarette smoke and perfumes can give people headaches rather easily.

There are too many models and brands to talk about here and although most of the air purifiers on the market do a great job, there are some that are better than others, and it's not always determined by cost. My brother swears by Honeywell air purifiers whereas my daughter and her husband are over the moon with their Ecoquest air purifiers. It really does depend on which room(s) you intend to use them, the size of that space, how often, and for what reasons. I urge everyone to do a simple search online for customer reviews on the latest models before purchasing anything.

Though some people claim to be allergic to cigarette smoke, they simply are not. No one is allergic to smoke. This doesn’t mean it doesn’t irritate them, however, and they shouldn’t have to breathe it in if they don’t want to. Bars and restaurants in New York State are all now required to be non-smoking. When this happens, some choose to have a closed off area for smokers. Air purifiers can help keep the air clean in these rooms, and reduces some of the damage smoke can do.

You can also get total home air purifier systems if you want to protect your entire home. This will be more costly, but if you have air conditioning, pets, or live in a high smog area, you may breathe easier by having one installed. They can also be installed in the workplace, and can help lower the amount of time workers take off from work due to problems with allergies and asthma.

Look around before you buy, and ask for recommendations. Some types of air purifiers work better than others, and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that won’t work well for you. If you decide to buy the kind that has replaceable filters, make sure you price the filters before you buy. You may get a great deal on air purifiers, but get stuck buying expensive filters on a regular basis. You should also look into what kind of warranty is offered, and how far away you might have to look when finding someone to service your equipment.

The air we breath in is quite appalling in some of the bigger cities, and the very least we can do is give ourselves a little quality breathing space in our own homes. It's all possible now with the introduction home air purifiers
