Why is Ceiling Fan Direction Important?

In the summer months, warm air rises and so you want the gentle air wafts of the fan to reach and cool you, so the ceiling fan direction should be set to forward. In the winter, you want to re-circulate the warm air so you set it to reverse.

What Low Profile Ceiling Fan Parts might need replacing over time?

It's not just low profile ceiling fans that may eventually need replacement parts, as all ceiling fans will eventually wear out certain working bits. Obviously this will depend on both age and usage. Below are some of those parts that may need replacing over time: Blade Arms; Blades; Downrods; Capacitors; Motors; Flywheels; PC Boards and Electronics; Mounting Bracket; Pullchain Switch; Reverse switch; Remote Controls; Wall Controls, and in some cases the Screws, bolts too.

Air con is great when it's blistering hot and the humidity is unbearable, but there's nothing quite like the gentle air wafts from a ceiling fan. Not only does the breeze cool you down, but there's something quite tranquil about a gentle draft folding around the contours of our body on a warm summer's day.

Sometimes it's just nice to be wrong! I thought having low ceilings would not allow us to have ceiling fans. I was over the moon to discover that there were low profile ceiling fans options for homes such as ours. It was only by accident that we discovered these alternative fittings.

It was one day while out shopping for home products that we stumbled upon low profile ceiling fans. At first I thought the description was wrong and shrugged off the idea that such an ornate piece could ever adorn our home. After a closer look and reading the information tag attached to the piece, we could see that this fan was indeed made purposely for rooms with low ceilings. Finding low clearance ceiling fans made my husband and I very happy campers.

Ornamental ceiling fans for homes were once considered a bit cheap and tacky, but not so with today's high end models, which not only adorn the ceiling, but illuminate the room, and perhaps most importantly, provide beautiful cool air wafts during those hot days of summer. Thanks to low profile ceiling fans, we no longer have to sit back and envy those folks with high walls.

Like a couple of kids at Christmas, we couldn't wait to get home, unpack, and fit our new low clearance ceiling fans. We knew it would look classy, but were over the moon with just how elegant and upmarket this room décor appeared once attached to the light fitting. With adjustable fan speeds, and fitted light dimmer, we have to say that low profile ceiling fans are perhaps the single best functional and focal point of a living or dining room after a ornamental fireplace.

To say that we're thrilled to bits with our new low profile ceiling fans is an understatement. Minka Aire Hugger Fans – Comments submitted by Linda Pappa

Hi Airwafts. I just love what my ceiling fans have done for the downstairs rooms. Initially we were concerned with the blades being dangerously low, but we found a solution which helped a lot, which was a range of specifically made fans for low ceilings. These fans are designed to mount to the ceiling without a downrod. What that means is that there is an increased clearance from the blades of the fan to the floor and this proved ideal for our smaller rooms. These fans have all the same functions as regular fans but in a much less conspicuous manner. Apparently, low profile ceiling fans are also called Hugger Fans! Anyway, we couldn't be happier!

As always, be sure to review any fan products prior to purchase in order to make a better informed decision prior to purchase.
